Traffic and Trails Transition

In the second half of 2009 and the first half of 2010, the MPRC has given primary attention to the issues of Traffic and Trails. Major reports representing this work have been completed (see reports on this page) and adopted by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors with next action steps identified. August and September will mark a transition.

Applications for the Highway 1 Citizens Implementation Planning Team are now being received. Those who indicated an interest in being on this team, then referred to as the Steering Committee, will be contacted directly, but will still be required to turn in the application form.

Application Information -- Application Form

Applications are due by September 7, the Tuesday after Labor Day. Further information will be available when Dave Holland attends the August 25 MCC meeting.

The Midcoast Community Council (MCC) and Highway 1

With the creation of a separate Highway 1 advisory committee, the MPRC consideration of community parks, playfields and toilets will return as an MPRC priority this fall. Those with interest in these projects are encouraged to contact MPRC. Below is a picture of the opening day of the El Granada playfield improvement project. There has been considerable learning in the issues associated with maintaining the playfield once the improvement project is complete. Those lessons need to be considered before moving to the next project opportunity, at Farallone View elementary school.
